Lee Green is a playwright living in Philadelphia.  She originates from upstate New York where she wrote her first play, Table Manners at the age of five.  The play consists of a conversation between a fork and a spoon as they discuss etiquette at the dinner table.  When showing it to her family and getting an amused reaction, she realized that writing could be a powerful thing.  She currently strives to get reactions, whatever they may be, from people who read or see her plays.  She believes there’s no greater feeling when someone is being affected by another’s creation, whatever the medium may be.

Lee graduated from the University of the Arts in May, 2007 with a BFA in acting.  After graduating, she chose to pursue writing instead.  She was first produced at the New Visions Theatre Arts school in Saratoga Springs, New York.  The ten minute play, Mugg’s Dilemma, went from there to receive a reading at the Shubin Theatre in Philadelphia under the guidance of playwright and screenwriter Ed Shockley.  Her one-act The Vacation was selected and produced at the University of the Arts for the 2005 Equinox Play Festival.  In 2007 Lee produced a public reading of her latest full-length piece, Anchorhold, at the Adrienne Theatre in Philadelphia.  In July Anchorhold was chosen by the Abingdon Theatre Company as a finalist for the Christopher Brian Wolk Award.  In March of 2008 her short story, The Secret Prince, was published by the online literary magazine Flask and Pen.  She recently produced her latest one-act, Branch to Branch, at the 2008 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Lee currently works as the literary consultant for Magic Rabbit Productions, an Independent Film Company out of Philadelphia.  To date, she has facilitated in completing the scripts for two of their feature films: Zart in 2005 and Ghost Story in 2007.  She continues to assist with the future endeavors of the company.

Lee is constantly taking steps to promote her plays or to find ways of producing them herself.
